..Had to go to Brooklyn today, towards the Sheapshead Bay area and didn't think I was going to see anything because it is a Saturday, but was wrong! haha
Seen a ton of oil trucks but only got pictures of a few. Was making a turn down a small side street and seen the back of an oil truck and it turned out to be this awesome heavy spec'd Autocar DK. For the second picture I thought I would edit it so it would look like an older picture, I think it looks ok, it shows the shear size of these Autocar's. Final photo is of another oil truck, a Kenworth T800, making a u-turn. I would have gotten a better picture but the driver was in the truck and going up to the truck on the sidewalk with a big camera and lens isn't the best idea. I never really do that, but considering there was not many people walking by, it's just more of a chance they will say something to you. If there was many people walking by and such, it would be a different story. The video shows a Cat 345CL excavating 'Manhattan Shist', which is basically the bedrock and dirt below normal grade. They were excavating for the Vehicle Security Center, where each vehicle is checked in order to go into the WTC property. The video shows him throwing some 'shist' and moving a blast mat.
...So my brother went out today and on his way he seen these three awesome Mack dump trucks. He only had his phone with him and was driving so just be glad he got these!
...First two pictures show Bacarella Trucking's Mack DM800 series dump truck, what a beast! I love when I come across these DM800's because it is probably one of my favorite Mack trucks, though, nowadays they are very rare to find (still working). You just gotta love those front Mack mudflaps!! Final photo is of a very good looking Mack Titan tri-axle, looks to be set up for heavy hauling, but is pulling a dump trailer.
