...I usually go to Jersey every weekend, normally on a Saturday, and always see something worthwhile. This past Saturday, was pretty good, I guess you can say of how many 'Largecars' I seen.
..Caught this beautiful Pete 379 hauling a flatbed of building materials. I have seen this company before, and they have some great looking rigs. Second photo is of a rig I always see, it may not be a Pete or a Kenworth, but he sure takes pride in what he has! Third photo is of another common truck I see, a very nice Pete in a different, but nice, color scheme. I would not have caught it if I did not hear it coming from a few blocks away!! haha -As always, you can click each image to enlarge it.

..First I would like to say sorry for not updating in a couple of days, been very busy. So I actually did end up going out on Thursday (the 28th), it was one of those last minute things. Took a trip to Manhattan, only around a 10-15 minute drive from where I live.
...Caught this awesome looking Mack Granite on my way there, caught me by surprise because the normal work day hours end at about 3pm or 4pm and this around 6pm or so. Second picture of a Peterbilt 379 parked unloading materials for a building in lower Manhattan. Third photo is of something that I don't really post on here, cars, thought some of you may like it. Looks to be a Porsche 997, the picture is a screenshot from a video I was taking of it..I was playing the video back and noticed that the brakes were glowing red, could be ceramic brakes or just the normal brakes heating up. -As always, you can click each image to enlarge it. ...Did not go out today, so I figured I would dig up some pictures that are more interesting than just the usual shot of a dumptruck, excavator, etc.
...We've all seen them, or at least heard of them, the grave yard for trucks and machinery. Some hold just plain out garbage and things just worth scrap metal money, but some do hold very cool trucks and machines. This first photo is of an old lumber yard, from my understanding. Located in the Mariners Harbor section of Staten Island, NY. The main attractions are two Mack DM800's, one dump truck to the left of the frame and one garbage truck to the right. Also pictured in the middle looks to be a B model Mack dumptruck, possibly a B61? The fifth photo shows an older R model Mack box truck, now you sure don't see those still around. Last 2 pictures are from an active contractors yard in Rahway, NJ. Shown are 2 Mack DM800 dump trucks sitting along the road. There is also acouple of R model Mack dumptrucks but the way the yard is setup, you can barely see them from the road. -As always, you can click the images for a larger view ..So, today I stayed local again. Did not see much but some interesting sights for sure!
First off is Gaeta's Kenworth T800 roll-off, I have always liked this truck of theirs, just needs a nicer bumper though! Second picture is of an Autocar flatbed truck with a boom on it for masonry uses. Glad to still see this truck is still being used! Third photo is of Hisko's beautiful Peterbilt 379, I wish I could have gotten a better picture but it caught me by surprise when I was taking a picture of the trash hauler that you can see in the photo. -As always, you can click the images for a larger view |
