The Bayonne Bridge project is at full speed now, and with that means there is a lot of equipment on site. Bay Crane is using this massive Oshkosh HET, which is originally a military vehicle that would haul tanks and whatnot on a trailer similar to a Goldhofer (what it is pulling here). Bay Crane has a staging area in the Bayonne Port and loads all the precast concrete bridge sections onto the Goldhofer trailer. I was extremely surprised when I seen them using this truck out of everything. It is definitely awesome to see in person!

We have have nicknames for everything and me and my brother call the never ending project on the Staten Island Expressway, the highway job. They are pretty much widening and raising the grade of the expressway. They knocked down 2 abandoned overpasses, which were actually pretty big and now they are doing a lot of, almost, cut and fill work. Got this shot of one of the PC490's on the job loading millings into a HM400 that is a little out of view
Caught this new Cat 349 on a sewer project along with a few other machines. I've been wanting to get pictures/video of a sewer job for awhile but there just isn't many around where I live. I would love to get some pictures from this job but it is on the opposite side of Staten Island from me. The blog posts are back! Going to try and keep up with posting daily and if not as much as I can. It is harder than it seems to put out posts every day! I was looking back at the old posts and seen how many shares and views they would get so I figured that I would try and bring them back for you guys. Got this shot of one of the "Jersey Boys" out in Jersey. These company's trucks are always looking and sounding good. |
See the stories behind the pictures.
