I was down by Atlantic Salt, yet again, and decided why not stop by and see whats over there. I was not expecting to see 7 trailers waiting outside backed into the SI Ferry Terminal, to avoid blocking traffic..Usually we see some real nice trucks down here but today, there was a variety of trucks and not so many 'largecars' in my opinion..I got this shot of 5 of them right behind each other which made for a cool picture.

Since it has been snowing for the past 3 days in the New York City area, plows and salt spreaders are called out to the streets to do their jobs. There are tons of these DSNY Mack MR's out, at least in Manhattan, spreading salt, now since the majority of the snow is/was already plowed..I caught this MR on the West Side highway right outside of Battery Park after eating at a diner in the area. Got my camera out just in time. Since it was night time I had to use a low shutter speed, and because the the truck was moving and we weren't, I panned my camera as I was taking the shots and was hoping that I was moving at a perfect speed with the truck because if you don't get it just right, the shots can just end up blurred. Luckily one of the five pictures I took came out decent.
Near the Staten Island Ferry terminal, this heavy spec Autocar oil truck sits tucked into, what looked to be just an abandoned yard for years. I wouldn't of thought twice to take a glimpse into there but, since this is on the road to the entrance to the salt terminal, where we went to take some photos, we spotted this beast of a truck. I actually seen in Brooklyn back in April - see here
Here is a shot I took of DSM Trucking's Kenworth W900 on Bay st, leaving Atlantic Salt in Staten Island. We seen him getting loaded so we drove around to find a spot to pull over and get some pictures of him passing. This was the first shot I took and came out pretty well, zoomed in all the way and got it just in time to get him taking the corner.
